The Marble Breakdown

Marble is trending, and it is here to stay! Known for its luxury and sophistication, marble is now being reinvented by designers to push the limits of its application in everyday interiors. The rise of the marble industry is also making it more accessible for all homes and budgets, which is very important to me as a designer.

Here are some of the following ways marble is being used in 2024:

Geometric patterns

Minimalism is having its moment in the marble trend. There’s been a focus for clean lines and solid colors, paving the way for geometric patterns to take center stage. What I love about this style is that you can go as bold or as understated as you want.

Warming up the classics

Classic marbles like Calacatta and Abescato are having their own resurgence. Once seen as outdated, designers are integrating classic marble into modern design. Mixing materials like warm metals or wood offsets the cold marble, making the stone a pleasing focal point. The shift in style is also due to homeowners choosing marble slabs with larger, inconsistent veining rather than the traditionally consistent carrara marble.

Furniture and Decor

If you’re not looking to remodel for the sake of marble, I suggest incorporating marble furniture or decor with your current design! Marble, being an Earth Element, can help ground a space if the energy is feeling chaotic.

Designers are creating spaces with tactile experiences in mind. Fluted, 3D marble has been a key component in this design movement. It creates stunning visual interest while providing an additional sensory experience; perfect for high-traffic areas!

With its timeless elegance, versatility, and adaptability, it’s no wonder that marble is experiencing a renaissance in modern interior design!
