One thing I love about bathroom design is how simple it can be to elevate the space. With some attention to detail and smart design, it sometimes only takes a few additions to get that spa-like oasis! For a truly luxe bathroom, I do recommend a little bit of an investment. Here are some of my favorite features of a modern luxe bathroom:
Curbless Showers
Not only are they designed to reduce or remove obstacles creating a convenient shower experience for people of all ages and abilities, but they also create a feeling of openness and luxury. With no shower curb to delineate the wet area from the dry area, water is kept in check with a sloping floor. Radiant-Heat Flooring
Treat yourself to a spa-like warmth with a radiant-heat system installed under your bathroom floor. These systems are especially welcome beneath typically cold materials, such as ceramic tile and stone. Consider installing heated towel holders if a new heated floor is out of budget. Once again, I recommend Schluter Systems.
Entertainment Centers
If you keep up with the news while you're getting ready in the morning, consider installing a small television among your bathroom upgrades. Low-voltage, water-resistant televisions come complete with water-resistant remotes. If a television risks ruining your spa-like aesthetic, consider hidden tv solutions such as Reflectel and their fabulous mirror tvs.
Steam Showers
A steam shower offers a luxurious, spa-like experience in the comfort of your home. Having a steam in the evening can help relax the body and mind, promoting a restful night’s sleep. Smart Lighting
Smart light bulbs are bulbs that can be controlled remotely via your smartphone, tablet, or voice assistant. They’re customizable and convenient; a must-have when it comes to a luxe bathroom. My favorite attention to detail are nightlights hidden in the toe-kick of the vanity. And a tip from me to you: the best color temp to do make-up is 4800-5000k.

As for luxe upgrades that require less time and money, you can’t go wrong with addressing the small details in your bathroom. Replace uninspired drawer handles with high-end hardware, add plants if natural light is available, even upgrading your towels will make a difference!
