HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s hard to believe we’re already in 2015. Now that the New Year’s Eve celebrations have quieted down, now is the crucial time to pause and think about all that we want to achieve in the New Year. I’m not talking about the casual promises we make at midnight with a glass of champagne in one hand and a whistle in the other. I’m talking about the carefully considered promises we can make to ourselves that will truly help us grow and evolve over the next 12 months.
2014 was my year of “YES!” where I worked hard to experience all the opportunities that life and work threw my way. My focus was not to chase people or opportunities, but to open my heart and mind to all that the universe was willing to offer and let things flow organically without any preconceived opinions or judgment. Upon reflection, this resolution brought some amazing people and opportunities my way.
My Goals for 2015:
A year on, my resolution for the New Year is not about losing weight or eating more kale — although maybe it should be?
My resolution for 2015 is to be FEARLESS!
But what does being “fearless” mean? For me it means tackling every prospect and project with enthusiasm and vigor. I want to continue to love, laugh, and “pay it forward” in every way that I can; and rest assured that the karmic universe WILL reward my efforts when I do so. Some specific projects that I’m excited to share include:
Identifying, and engaging with, opportunities to give back via designer showcases like the “Design on a Dime” spring showcase and DIFFA’s 4th Annual Picnic by Design Event in the summer.
Continuing to develop my professional design network via the Interior Design Society (IDS) and the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA).
Creating opportunities to share my philosophy of interior design and Feng Shui through speaking engagements and even mentoring! (For mentoring opportunities contact me here)
2015 is already shaping up to be an incredibly positive year. I cannot wait to throw myself into every project FEARLESSLY with all of my talent, drive and attention to detail, whether the job is large or small.
Remember: Every lead is an opportunity to help someone. BRING IT ON.
